Have you tried Pinterest?

Pinterest is a wonderful tool to organize all of your virtual inspiration boards.  Think of it as a place to store your online inspirations and endless resource of others’ inspiration boards!  This is way, way better than printing out every photo I see for inspiration, and storing in a book. Saves alot of ink and paper! It is always right there at your fingertips. I have a "Pin It" short cut on my desktop for when I happen onto an inspiration, I can just click the shortcut and its saved. Better yet, there is an App for Pinterest. You need an invitation to register on Pinterest. If you need a new addiction in your life, let me know and I will send you an invite.

Words Cannot Describe

This past weekend I attended the Art of Spring in Dallas, Texas with fifty- something other gals from all over the United States. I made alot of new friends, shared so much laughter, learned some new craft techniques, ate some  fabulous food, and  experienced one of the best events in my life. I went with my Art Sister, Sheryl, to the event. It is great to have such a good friend to share our experiences and travels together.

This was only the beginning of many wonderful gifts & give aways during the event. Debbie and Shea totally spoiled us during our stay.

 The studio was a dream come true, I would love to do some creating in this space...

Huge honor to be in the presence of Jo Packham,  the creator of Stampington & Company's Somerset Studio. 

And last but not least, it was such a please for us to meet Christy Tomlinson, that taught the SheArt Class we took online from her. She is such a talented gal with a beautiful smile & soul. 

The Art of Spring in Dallas, Tx

Today has finally arrived and I am off to the Art of Spring in Dallas, Texas. My art buddy and bestie, Sheryl is traveling with me.  These gatherings are the talk of the art communities and I feel so fortunate to be able to attend. I am actually feeling a little nervous as I read of all the women attending. Some are very talented artist that I have taken classes from in person and online. Attending for me is to create and learn new skills and challenge me. Its an opportunity to interact with other creative souls. 

The host of the event are the mother-daughter design team of Debbie Murray and Shea Fragoso that have been collaborating in creative ways for as long as both can remember. When Shea was growing up, Debbie taught stained glass classes in the community college system and owned a custom design business and fine art painting studio. When Shea finished school, they owned gift shops together in Southern California. Shea became a highly sought-after jewelry designer; her creations appeared in dozens of fashion magazines and graced the red carpet several times. Both women designed products for the gift industry and sold pieces to collectors around the world. In 2009, Debbie and Shea completed a major remodeling of a gothic church in Dallas, Texas. Here, they indulged in their love of crowns and European design and were constantly inspired by the architecture and the light.

We have been told that Shea and Debbie have signed two book deals, and there will be a professional photographer following us around during the entire event. What do I wear?
Let me not forget, here are a couple of the items I will be making...

Spring is here, all the flowers are in bloom. This photo from Better Homes and Gardens makes me want this room attached to my house. I love the colors, the freshness and it just makes you smile. Just looking at this you can smell the air and feel the sunshine. I found it interesting that they didn't choose any window treatment at all. Listing homes, I come in contact with some many different personalities that one my want to enjoy the view and another needs curtains to close at night so no one can see in. Regardless, light bright rooms sell houses. And the rooms is all painted a neutral color that appeals to all. Once the furniture is out of this room, anyones furniture will fit in this room. Keep these things in mind if you are listing your home. Light bright rooms, neutral colors, uncluttered surroundings are some of the important tips to remember.

I have many friends that participate in these throughout the year.

Where to go with My Blog

I've been thinking alot about my blog lately. Its obvious there has been no motivation in the past month to post. Part of the reason is that it is Spring. Spring means busy time for Realtors. It has been nonstop for me. Very little time for me. I read many many DIY decorating blogs daily as a way of unwinding.

So here is my thought. I have been wondering if I should start doing something like that in the terms of what I tell people everyday to help sell their home. I would be interested in hearing your feedback and thoughts on this idea.

Here is a cute little plaque that I made for a couple as a closing gift...
Take an 8"x8" board and paint it black. Print out the words on paper using a software that allows your some creativity. I use CorelDraw, mainly because I have used it for years and you can do anything with it. Apply it with ModPodge and here you go!

Peace Keepers

I haven't posted a recent class that I took from Debbie Schuh when she was in the area. Debbie is from New York and was in Texas before going to Paris to teach this same class. An no...that isn't Paris, Texas. She used products from 7 gypsies, Ti Holtz-Idea-ology and May Arts. 
I loved her description from her blog about these projects...
Peace in my heart and peace in this world is my prayer for this year, and one of the tools I'm going to use to help me achieve that is by tucking my cares and my prayers into this enchanting 7gypsies receipt holder. Once my prayer is written down and tucked away, I can rest in giving it to God. Filled with reminders to believe and be brave and to have hope, this display board can hang or stand on an easel and hold pictures and thoughts to encourage you along the way.  A separate mini album can hang on a clip or be tucked in your bag to carry with you. That's my inspiration, but, of course, you can use this beautiful project for anything you can imagine!

I Won!

I am so totally thrilled to find out late this evening that I was the winner of the Brave Girls Club Soul Restoration Workshop. What a thrill this was for me. I posted on the Guilded Life Blog a few weeks ago for a chance in their give-a-way to this workshop. And after receiving an email that I was enrolled, I couldn't figure out why I got that email. Was it a mistake? So, I went to check it out and the next thing I see the posting of the latest winners. I will keep you updated with what I am learning...
