Finally back home to Foxhollow, while Dad is in the hospital. We had him admitted for pneumonia and after only being in hospital for two day...he has MRSA. While he is hospitalized it is so nice to be in our home and sleep in our own bed.
We know that our care for Dad is not long term. He is dealing with many health issues at this time. He is 87. So, we are in hopes to keep him in his home for as long as we can. That is where he wants to be.
Its hard to believe that he worked six days a week up till 6 months ago. And since he has been totally bedfast. Hospitalized four times. We pray he heals and comes home soon.

We raised our hands to the sky with welcome as the rain came today...
Our farmers and rancher have suffered with the drought this summer and the scorching heat. Almost unbearable some days. I had forgotten had wonderful a lazy day at home with rain outside. Home a place I miss. I come to visit in the day and we return to my Dad's in the eve to care for him. Its hard to believe, we have been doing this since February.

2012 Where Bloggers Create

Welcome Friends to my Blog...Foxhollow Tales. Where did the inspiration for the name of my blog name come from ? Simply, I live on Foxhollow Drive and its about my day to day life. The 2012 "Where Bloggers Create Blog Party" gave me the inspiration to blog again. I have been staying nights with my Dad, that is ill since this past February. I have missed being in my creative space. So here it is...my tiny little room. I
My space hasn't changed alot since last year, I moved a few things around. And I must admit...it normally isn't this clean. If I am creating...things are everywhere!

It was a treat meeting Karen Valentine, our wonderful host, in Texas this year at the Paper Cowgirl. She is as beautiful inside, as outside. Thank you Karen, for hosting the blog party once again this year. It is such a treat seeing others  creative spaces. There are some truly inspirational spaces as you skip around looking at everyone else's blogs.

Here is my Creative Space

An old purse of my Mom's with colorful flowers.
It makes me smile.
Vintage jewelry, flowers and lace are my passion.
I love my old parts cabinet for storing my small enephera.

An old printers tray with memories and collectables.
I had a desk & shelves custom built in the odd shape little room, no  desk that I tried ever seemed to fit.
This is just a fraction of the ribbon I own...I have it wrapped on cards in boxes in the closet organized by color.
I loved this little bag of my Dad's, and put it to use for storing my vintage photos that I collect.
An old folded book is perfect for notes and photos on my desk.
Above my desk my little women fly...

This is where most of my creating happens...if you look closely you can see lots of paint, cuts, & burns but thats what makes it perfect.
This is just a few of my many stamps....
The best part...my special helpers, my granddaughters, Ava & Anna
And we can't forget little Chopin, our Burmese kitten. He sleeps in this antique grocery cart in the corner of my office.

Thanks for stopping by...I hoped you enjoyed it as much as I have enjoyed sharing.

Peace be to all.

My mind is full of ideas, projects that I want time to create and time to get lost in my own world in  my hobby room.

Work is crazy busy now....
We are staying at my Dad's four nights a week to help care for him.
. I have been pinning a million things to my Pinterest site lately in hopes that they  will give me inspiration.

So this Sunday morn, I have no agenda. I love it. I miss posting on my blog and sharing my art, my feelings and what is going on, here at Foxhollow Tales.

Just a little history...

Memorial Day is a holiday that has evolved dramatically over the years. Memorial Day observances began after the Civil War to honor the Union soldiers who gave their lives in the conflict. They were expanded after World War I to become a tribute to the dead of all the nation’s wars.
When Memorial Day began, the war dead were placed front and center. The holiday’s original name, Decoration Day, came from the day’s main activity: leaving flowers at cemeteries.
More recently, the last Monday in May, and the weekend preceding it, has come to mark the unofficial beginning of summer for many. Along with parades doused in red, white and blue, cook-outs in the backyard and excursions to the local beach fill the long weekend. (NYTimes)

May we not forget the reason for Memorial Day. God bless those that gave their life for our freedom & what America stands for. As we hold our fallen soldiers and their families up in prayer, include thanks for the freedoms they have preserved in the United States for over 200 years.

Catching Up...

In the next few weeks, I plan on doing some major catching up. Lots of changes in life, that have altered things. We had a wonderful vacation in Key West in January, February was never really cold...cold like we expect winter to be, March blew in my Dad's health issues which in turn, my husband and I moved in with him to care for him. My wonderful husband, filled  in one weekend for me to leave for a art event and I have pics and fun things about that. So come back and hopefully to next few day, weeks, I will be back on the roll of blogging.

Taking a Break

As you can see, I have been on break here for a couple month. Vacation in January to Key West...great pics to post. And February came with my Dad's illness. Lots of changes in my life. Caring for a parent and seeing them unable to care for themselves is one of the hardest things we do in our life.

Review of Christmas 2011

I was having tons of problems with my blog during November and December. And due to my work schedule, preparing for the holidays, a Christmas stocking swap are just a few of the reasons it never got fixed. So, I am playing catchup and I will show you some pics I took around the house over the holidays. Hope you enjoy!
